2026 Koenigsegg Gemera

The Koenigsegg Gemera has finally entered production after a long wait. This four-passenger hypercar was first revealed in 2020, and now it is moving closer to customer deliveries. For many buyers, this moment comes after more than six years of waiting.

Koenigsegg is known for building extremely fast cars, but production always takes time. The company recently expanded its factory, which allowed the Gemera to move into the production phase. The model is now being built alongside the CC850, while another future model, the Sadair Spear, will soon join the lineup.

The Gemera is not a typical hypercar. Koenigsegg calls it a “Mega-GT” because it combines extreme performance with everyday usability. Unlike most cars in this segment, it offers space for four passengers, making it a rare combination of speed and practicality.

Power comes from a complex hybrid system. The car uses a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine combined with three electric motors. Together, this setup produces an incredible 2,300 horsepower and 2,028 lb-ft of torque, placing the Gemera among the most powerful production cars ever made.

Two of the electric motors are placed at the rear, while the front features a special unit called the Dark Matter motor. This front motor alone produces up to 800 horsepower. Despite its high output, it is very lightweight, weighing only about 86 pounds thanks to advanced carbon fiber construction.

All of this power is sent to all four wheels through a unique nine-speed transmission known as the Light Speed Tourbillon Transmission. This system is designed to handle extreme power while delivering smooth and fast gear changes.

Performance figures are just as impressive as the technology. The Gemera can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under two seconds, which puts it in the top tier of performance cars worldwide. Its top speed is expected to go well beyond 200 mph.

Inside, the Gemera offers a different experience compared to most hypercars. It has four seats and enough space for passengers, making it more comfortable for longer drives. At the same time, it still delivers the intense acceleration and speed expected from a Koenigsegg.

Production will be limited, with only 300 units planned. This makes the Gemera not only a high-performance machine but also a rare collector’s car. With production now underway, customers are finally closer to receiving one of the most advanced hypercars ever created.
