A very special Alfa Romeo 75 that once belonged to Jeremy Clarkson is going up for auction. This car was part of one of the most popular episodes of Top Gear back in 2008, and now it’s looking for a new owner.

A Star from Top Gear
This Alfa was used in the third episode of season 11 of Top Gear. Clarkson, along with Richard Hammond and James May, had to buy an Alfa Romeo for less than £1000. Clarkson picked this 1989 Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 V6 Veloce for just £450 (around €519 today).

The episode became a fan favorite, and the car became famous. Since then, it changed owners, but it still has the same turquoise paint and visible battle scars from the show. The current owner fixed some parts like the clutch, gearbox, and timing belt, but left the body in the same condition as it was on TV. It has driven only about 82,000 kilometers, which is not much for a car this old.
From Cheap to Expensive
Even though Clarkson paid just £450 for it, the car is now expected to sell for between £12,000 and £15,000 (around €13,000 to €17,000). That’s over 30 times more than the original price!

The auction will take place on August 24 during the Silverstone Festival in the UK. It’s a rare chance to buy a car that has both TV history and a strong Italian V6 engine with 192 horsepower and a top speed of 222 km/h.

Clarkson once said this V6 was one of the best engines of its time, especially because of its sound and driving fun.
