Volvo has officially presented the new XC70, a model that brings back a famous name after many years. Unlike the old XC70 wagon, the 2025 version is now a luxury crossover with a strong focus on design, technology, and hybrid power.
The new XC70 is based on the SMA platform and offers advanced safety features under the Safe Space system, with cameras, radars, and sensors always watching the road. The design follows Volvo’s latest style, with clean lines and premium details.

Inside, the XC70 offers a modern Scandinavian cabin. Drivers get a 12.3-inch digital display and a large 15.4-inch infotainment screen. A 92-inch AR head-up display is also available as an option. The interior includes wooden details, wireless phone charging, Harman Kardon audio, heated rear seats, ambient lighting, and a three-zone climate system. The luggage area offers 408 liters of space, expandable to 1,456 liters.

When it comes to power, Volvo offers two plug-in hybrid versions. The first one has front-wheel drive, 314 hp, and up to 116 km of electric driving. The stronger version has all-wheel drive, 456 hp, and up to 180 km of electric range thanks to a 39.6 kWh battery. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. Fast charging from 0–80% takes about 23 minutes. The total driving range with the help of a 1.5-liter petrol engine is over 1,200 km.
The new Volvo XC70 is already available for pre-order in China, starting at 446,900 CNY (about $58,800 USD). Volvo has not yet confirmed if the model will be sold in Europe or North America, but many expect it could arrive soon.
