Mate Rimac has shared a new video where he explains how the Rimac Nevera was created and why it is so important for the company. In this video, he speaks openly about the early days, the challenges, and the long journey from a small garage project to a world-famous electric hypercar. The story shows how a bold idea became one of the most advanced cars ever built.
He goes back to the very beginning, when there was only an idea and a small team with no experience in building a production car. The project started in Croatia, a country without a strong automotive industry. Despite limited resources, the team continued to develop their vision step by step, focusing on electric performance and innovation.
The Rimac Nevera became a major turning point for the company. It produces nearly 2,000 horsepower and delivers extreme performance that changed how people see electric cars. During development and production, the Nevera set more than 50 world records and proved that electric hypercars can compete with the fastest petrol-powered machines.

This car also helped build the foundation for Rimac Group as it exists today. It led to the creation of the Rimac Campus, a modern facility that now places Croatia on the global automotive map. The Nevera is not just a car, but a symbol of growth, ambition, and technological progress.
To mark this journey, Rimac introduced the Nevera R Founder’s Edition. This version is limited to only ten units and represents the peak of the company’s development over the past decade. It is designed as a tribute to early supporters and customers who believed in the brand from the start.
Each car in the Founder’s Edition is fully customized. Buyers work directly with Rimac’s design and engineering teams at the Rimac Campus. Every vehicle is unique, with special colors, materials, and personal details. One key design element is the tie motif, which reflects the company’s identity and Croatian heritage.
The Nevera R itself pushes performance even further. It delivers 2,107 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.66 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 431 km/h. In 2025, it set 24 new world records, showing how much the technology has improved over time.
Mate Rimac says these ten cars will always have a special place in the company’s history. They represent everything the team has achieved over the past ten years. From a small garage project to a global technology company with more than 2,000 employees, the journey of Rimac Nevera stands as one of the most impressive stories in the modern car industry.
